KUALA LUMPUR – The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) is not sending an observer to the Myanmar elections in December, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. confirmed Tuesday night. Speaking to the press after capping his participation in the 47th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits here, Marcos said the issue of deploying a monitoring team had been discussed carefully during talks in the high-level gathering.

MANILA – Authorities have arrested more than 5,000 drug high-value targets (HVTs) and seized nearly PHP32 billion worth of narcotics since the start of the President Ferdinand Marcos Jr administration's crackdown on illegal drugs in mid-2022, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) reported on Wednesday. In its latest report on the national anti-drug campaign, PDEA said a total of 5,366 HVTs were arrested from July 1, 2022, to Jan. 31, 2024.

In separate advisories Monday, Seaoil, PTT Philippines, and Jetti Petroleum said the price of their gasoline products will be hiked by PHP1.70 per liter and diesel by PHP2.70 per liter, effective 6 a.m. Seaoil said the price of its kerosene will also increase by PHP2.10 per liter.
