Gilas Pilipinas Women secured a historic silver medal after falling to defending champion Australia, 9-18, in the finals of the FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup in Singapore on Sunday. Australia set the tone early with a 6-0 run, putting the Filipinas on the back foot.Two-time UAAP Most Valuable Player Kacey dela Rosa scored back-to-back baskets to put the Philippines on the board, but Australia maintained control en route to the victory.

Tokyo Olympic karate medal returned to Ukrainian
Stanislav Horuna, a Ukrainian bronze medalist in karate at the Tokyo Olympics, on Sunday received back his medal, auctioned off in 2022 and now returned to him by the successful bidder. In the Tokyo Games held in 2021, Horuna took bronze in the men's kumite 75-kilogram class. He later put the medal up for auction to raise money to support his war-torn country.

Farm Fresh battles Nxled; Creamline takes on Akari
Farm Fresh takes on Nxled, while Creamline battles Akari in do-or-die matches Tuesday in the Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference at the Playtime FilOil Centre in San Juan. The winners will join PLDT and Cignal in the round robin semifinals. Both Farm Fresh and Creamline found themselves in a precarious situation after falling short in the Qualifying Round, while Nxled and Akari clawed their way through the knockout stages.
